Christian Gottlieb Scheidler (c. 1752; † 1815) was a German musician and composer. About his background and his resume is poorly understood. He worked as a cellist and bassoonist in various royal courts, but he was known mainly by his playing of the lute and guitar. He is considered one of the last virtuoso on the lute on the one hand, and as one of the first major representative of the guitar playing on the other.
