Warm Widow started in Manchester in 2007 when singer/guitarist Martin Greenwood began playing with drummer Lianne Steinberg. Martin's former Tsuji Giri colleague Ivan Hall was enrolled to play bass and the band became a gigging unit, playing mostly around Manchester, with a few excursions into other bits of the UK. They set up a recording studio in Ivan's cellar and recorded the songs that would become their 2009 EP Impossible Acts EP.
