Didar Sandhu was born to Sardarni Daan Kaur and Sardar Sumand Singh in Village of Chhak no. 133, District Sarghoda, Tehsil Silawali in Punjab before the partition of India and Pakistan. He was the youngest of five brothers Najjar Singh, Sawarn Singh, Com. Darshan Singh and Gurnam Singh. Didar was very fond of poetry at early age and started to write poetry early in his school days.
