Sergent Pépère was born in 1998. The four founder musicians met while performing with the Arpion Céleste group, loosely translated as Heavenly Foot (slang for foot) a group of street performers on stilts. Wishing to develop their own sound, close to the "fanfare" style, they left their stilts behind created a distinctive style, inspired by tzigane music, oriental jazz, latin American, ska... Today Sergent Pépère consists of a group of seven very individual traveling musicians.
