Sidi Bou Said were a London-based indie band formed in the early 1990s, consisting of Claire Lemmon (guitar & lead vocal), Mel Woods (drums & backing vocal) and Gayl Harrison (bass); and named after a town in Tunisia. Their indie-rock sound was combined with a wide variety of influences from folk to progressive rock and the odd touch of electronica. They were sometimes likened to Throwing Muses, partly due to the similarity of Claire Lemmon's voice to Kristin Hersh's, but also their shared taste for uncomfortable lyrical themes - murder...
