Dark Side of the Cop began in 2004 when Marco Panella and Joe Weisenthal decided to write an alternate soundtrack to the Eddie Murphy masterpiece Beverly Hills Cop. With the vocal help of Tyler Gibbons (of Red Heart the Ticker) and touring help from Roger Thomasson and Matt Hayashi, Dark Side of the Cop released its self-titled record in 2006 and toured for a few months before calling it quits and moving on to other things. They are still making music under the name FIOR FIERO.
