Melanie Masson (born 25 July 1968) is a children's entertainer and mother-of-two from Cathcart, Glasgow and lives in North London. Known as Fairy Flutterby in her home town, Melanie had previously performed in many bands and had a small amount of experience in the music industry before auditioning for the show. In 1996, Masson released a single titled "Love Is the Power" through EMI (who had signed her to a development deal), and in 2007, she was featured on Wi-Fi's cover of "Be Without You" by Mary J.
