Paul and Al met at Bristols infamous Lakota club in the summer of 1996, They built a studio rigging up an Atari ST, a Sampson mixing desk with an Roland S760, a Zoom 9120 and an HM Heavy Metal pedal and a Pro1 Paul had bought from a geezer in a pub for £95. They called themselves Starecase and produced their first tune (the second ever release on Lakotas label) First Floor Deadlock.
