Solo Cissokho and Ellika Frisell first met on the stage of a club in Stockholm in 1998. There, Senegalese folk music a/k/a griotmusic met the Swedish polska. Solo is a bearer of his people's history from the centuries-old storytelling tradition of the Griots. Ellika’s music has deep roots in the wildly joyous polska tradition of Bingsjö, a village of the province Dalarna. Together they make music where song combines with the kora’s rhythmical flow to form a colourful new soundscape.
