Chester (Chet) William Powers, Jr. (October 7, 1937 – November 16, 1994) was an American singer-songwriter. Chet Powers had already become "Dino Valenti" long before arriving in Greenwich Village in the early 1960s. Before serving in the Air Force and spending time developing his style in the coffeehouses of Boston and Provincetown, Mass., he performed as Dino Valenti with small rock bands in New England lounges, the logic being "Dino Valenti" had considerable more appeal than "Chester William Powers".
