He saw that bourgeoisie concepts such as talent and ability were taking the danger and spontaneity out of music. Williams launched a manifesto to save music in 2004. There were many, many, many parts to this manifesto but the most striking part of Williams’ dogma was the insistence that all members of the Newport Toucher Scene must not be able to sing or play an instrument.
