Born Lucila Campos Clara Martial in Lima, Peru on 16 August 1938. Lucila Campos is a popular Peruvian singer, and was known as "The Brown Beauty". She has also been called the "Reina de las Polladas', the quintessential interpreter of Afro-Peruvian folk music. For 17 years, she was a prominent member of Black Peru, an Afro-Peruvian cultural association whose mission was to preserve the art and culture of Blacks in Peru.
