Raquel Meller (1888-1962 born Francisca Marqués López) was a Spanish singer and actress. It is considered as one of the most internationally successful Spanish actress of the 20th century.
She sang the original version of some of the most famous Spanish songs of the 1920s to 1940s, being the best example "La Violetera" (The Violet Saleswoman) which was used by Charlie Chaplin in his movie "City Lights".
