Siegfried Matthus (born 13 April 1934, in Mallenuppen (now Russian: Задорожье Zadorozhye, Ozyorsky District, Kaliningrad Oblast), Landkreis Darkehmen, East Prussia) is a German composer and opera director living in Berlin and is one of Germany's most often performed contemporary composers. Biography Matthus attended secondary school in Rheinsberg, followed by studies at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin.
