Tape Hiss and Sparkle started as the solo project of Simon Tamblyn. Tamblyn started TH&S in 2009. He was the original vocalist for Cape Town art-rockers, The Sleepers, from 2003 - 2011. Tape Hiss and Sparkle's music is described as Lo-Fi Alternative Folk. TH&S was briefly a band from 2009 - 2011 with Philip Cramer on drums, Chris Truter on bass, Marc Rontsch on guitar and Linda Scarborough on keys. This outfit was disbanded and TH&S returned to being a solo act with Tamblyn on guitar and vocals.
