Laura Vanamo is a pop singer from Vantaa, Finland. Vanamo made her initial appearance as a contestant in the Finnish Idol 2008 competition. Vanamo performed Koharu Kusumi's song Koi Kana in a traditional JPop fashion and instantly gained attention from both the judges and the viewers of the show.
She advanced to the semifinals until she was voted off.
Vanamo's fame gained from the competition led to her singing Koi Kana on a TV commercial which fed to her popularity. Soon after she was noted by the Finnish record company Poko Rekords.
